Publisher's description

Backup4all is an award-winning backup program for Windows. Backup4all protects your valuable data from partial or total loss by automating backup tasks, password protecting and compressing it to save storage space. Using Backup4all you can easily backup to any local or network drive, backup to FTP (with support for SSL encryption, proxy server, passive mode), backup to CD/DVD, or other removable media (such as USB drives).
Backup4all can backup open/locked files and it can perform full, differential, incremental and mirror backups. When defining a backup you can also set file filters and schedule the backup for automatic execution. Once a backup is performed, you can see what files have been changed since the last backup or you can read the statistics about the next backup execution. You can use the context menu from the tree to run standard actions associated with the file type.
You can run predefined backups, such as My Documents, My Pictures or Outlook Express and load backup plugins (full list www.backup4all.com/backup-plugins.php ).
Backup4all has ZIP64 support (can create backups over 2 GB) and creates standard zip files, meaning that you can access it with any zip compatible utility. Backup4all also allows you to encrypt your backup using AES Encryption (128/192/256-bit).
This backup program keeps track of file versions. You can easily restore any version of files or a whole folder. You can filter files to be restored.
Backup4all tests the backup files automatically to ensure the backup is safe and correctly executed (uses CRC32). You can also enable email notifications to receive an email in case of success/error/warning.
Backup4all works with any drive letter, including mapped network drives and UNC paths. It comes with its own built-in CD/DVD burning support. If you prefer, you can use UDF format.
Backup4all runs on 2000/2003/XP/Vista and offers multi language support. Get the latest version from http://www.backup4all.com

Warning : avoid. As of May 2010, version 4.4 compile 207, backup4all cannot manage properly directories with same names but different case. For instance, it cannot distinguish properly between C:\Files\Documentation and C:\Files\documentation, and will name one for the other. When restoring files, this will cause all sort of issues with several sofwtare (escpecially for developers, using Eclipse for instance). Spent 2 weeks exchanging with support, just to be notified today that this behavior cannot be changed. Too bad, great features, good quality otherwise. Just can`t do the basics of a backup software

I can`t share the opinion of the previuos posters. Backup4all sometimes doesn`t mirror all changed files. Sometimes it forgets them and never syncs again when they are not changed later on. Thats a big bug. I lost some important files. Tip: Allways check if your intallation is working with a folder compair using a different prog like total commander i.e.
